Tips on How to Fill an Easter Basket
It’s been 14 years of filling Easter baskets for this momma. I’ve learned how to pack ’em, stuff ’em, and package ’em, all with my bare hands. LOL! There are a few tricks of the trade that I want to pass along to you. Let me know in the comments what you think and if you have more to tips share.
- Start shopping as soon as you notice Easter items hitting the shelves. If you add a few pieces each week, it will feel less stressful and be easier on your monthly budget.
- Easter grass! Do you love it or hate it? When our girls were little, I opted to stay far away from it because of the mess. Now that they are older, it’s on my consideration list. LOL!
- Make Easter baskets practical by including items your kids need for the spring and summer seasons. You can fill them with shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, swimsuits, and water shoes. Any opportunity to save money and maximize the usefulness of gifts is a significant win!
- When layering gifts in your basket, it’s best to place the larger pieces at the bottom, towards the back, and the smaller items on top. This way, you can see all the goodies peeking through the cellophane.
- Money-Saving Tip: Don’t underestimate the power of Dollar Tree. This is where I always purchase my cellophane gift wrap and bags for my girls’ baskets. You can also find super cute plastic eggs, candies, goodies, and gifts to fill in any Easter basket gaps.
- Another Money-Saving Tip: Last but not least, consider shopping at places like Target’s Dollar Spot, Big Lots, Ollie’s, Aldi, and Walmart to make your money stretch a little further.
