Fabulous Fall Centerpiece Ideas
- Mysha, from Remington Avenue, has such a cute centerpiece idea she created with a simple block of wood. She staggered drill holes down the middle and tucked candlesticks inside, of various sizes, for the perfect candelabra focal point. How creative is that? Here is her tutorial if you’d like to see the details on her beautiful creation.
- Randi, from Randi Garret Design, displayed beautiful orange velvet pumpkins, clustered down the center of her table, and slipped in magnolia blooms, fall leaves, and sweet dainty butterflies. Such a gorgeous centerpiece arranged on top of a luxurious velvet leopard table runner. Click here to see her design.
- Mums are a fall staple. They come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. You can place a mum in one of your favorite ceramic vases, to make it look a little more dressed up, or cut a hole in the center of a large pumpkin and place it in the middle. If you opt for smaller-size mum pots, add five or six down the center of your dining table and create a floral-like runner as one of the many options of fall centerpieces for your table.
- Candy corn, acorns, pinecones, or popcorn kernels can be poured into a large clear glass hurricane jar and used as the surrounding embellishment for your pillar candle. Or you can place a skinny vase in the middle of the hurricane jar, pour in the tiny décor pieces, such as acorns, and then put real flowers in the middle vase. The same concept applies to smaller vases as well if you wanted to use a cluster of centerpieces. If you are sticking with larger vases, think in groups of three. Odd numbers seem to work best when grouping together larger items.
- A wooden dough bowl can be used like a tray to house your fall centerpiece items for your table. You can layer the bottom with bib lettuce, acorns, or tiny pinecones. Place real pumpkins (orange, white, or other colored pumpkins that compliment your tablescape) on top. They can be of different shapes and sizes, and then tuck in some fresh flowers all around where you need fillers.
- Pampas grass arrangements can be a beautiful addition to your fall tablescape as it adds a neutral fall color and soft flowy texture. Depending on the size of your table, you can use one or multiple arrangements. Dried wheat grass is another option.
- An arrangement of beautiful florals in the rich tones of fall, is always a timeless way to go for a festive fall centerpiece on your table.
- I love the look of pheasant feathers for fall décor. You can add a few to your floral arrangement, or place a large cluster in an opaque vase.
- Grapevine wreaths don’t have to just go on doors. You can also place them as centerpiece rings on your dining room table. Or coffee table for that matter! Stage a large hurricane vase in the center with a thick pillar candle inside. The Threshold collection at Target has some beautiful neutral-colored candles and scents to choose from.
- Table runners are wonderful additions to compliment centerpieces on any table. You can use a single one down the center of the table, or lay multiple runners along the width of the table like I did here in a Spring tablescape post, to add more texture and color.
- I love the classic look of brass candle holders standing tall along the center of the table. This design can be another one of the many options of fall centerpieces for your table. And, these holders can be reused year after year because of their timeless look. To change it up, you can use different colored candlesticks that complement your table setting colors. You can also add eucalyptus, faux leaves, large pine cones, or small pumpkins, next to and in between, for a layered look.
- If you cut a hole in tiny pie pumpkins and scoop out the seeds, these would be darling votive holders staggered down your table. You can also use a larger pumpkin, in a similar fashion, with a hole in the center, and place a vase inside with flowers spilling out. Feel free to carve a face in it for Halloween.
- Birch candle holders are another option you can use to house your votives. Going with a more neutral look, add in white pumpkins and pinecones in between and you will have a stunning centerpiece for your fall table.
- Lanterns are warm and cozy décor options this time of year. If you are looking for more of a farmhouse look, add a few of them down the center of your table if it’s rectangular, or cluster them in a group of three (use various sizes) if styling a round table.
- Tall leaf branches flowing out of an oversized ceramic vase is what I used as my Thanksgiving centerpiece this year. The design made my heart smile! Click here to see how it came together. Quick note! Just make sure that the vase you are using is heavy and sturdy enough to not fall over. The Hearth & Hand collection at Target has some amazing options.
- Clusters of mini pumpkins down the center of your table is another simple, yet super festive option as one of the various fall centerpieces for your table. Choose from all orange pumpkins, all white pumpkins for a more elegant look, or pick and choose mini pumpkins in different color tones. Have fun creating your own masterpiece.
There are so many possibilities to consider as fall centerpieces for your table. It’s just a matter of what you prefer and what flows well in your space. Feel free to mix and match some of these ideas and make your centerpiece creations masterpieces. I’d love to see and hear about your designs. Feel free to share them in the comments below.
P.S. A Note of Encouragement
Have you ever compared yourself to someone else? Did you know that that person probably did the same thing to you? We all have! What we need to remember is that we are all different and unique. Nothing new under the sun there, right? Sometimes it’s nice to revisit those old but wise truths.
No two people are the same, and yet we try to be. Now, don’t get me wrong! I, personally, love to try out new styles and regularly look at what is trending in terms of décor and design. But, when it comes to me as a person, what makes my heart come alive, what makes me smile, what makes me dream, those things are very different compared to someone else. It might be super different even when it comes to the centerpiece I choose on my dining room table.
I want to encourage you today to just be you. I know I’ve shared this before, but it’s on my heart to highlight it again. There is nobody else here, on planet earth, like YOU. We need the you God created YOU to be.
Nobody is perfect. We need you, flaws and all. Why? Because, that makes you human. It makes you relatable and real. We all like people who can “let their hair down” so to speak, and not put on a show. It’s so refreshing to others when we show that we aren’t perfect. It makes us all feel normal.
You are irreplaceable. You are so special and such a treasure to the world and to the Lord. You were placed here, at this time, to rise and shine and be all that God has created you to be. Put your chin up, and just be you!
