Ahh, it’s January! A fresh start to an incredible year! Welcome to our January bucket list ideas that can help keep you fully engaged in life, stave off the winter blues, and provide you with so many fun tips on what you can do during this month of new beginnings. There’s no better time than the present to start planning your future. Being intentional with even the smallest of activities can help you embrace this winter month and fill it with amazing memories. Without further ado, let’s dive into the details.

January Bucket List for Adults and Kiddos, too
- Stick to your New Year’s resolutions for at least 66 days. They say after 66 days, you develop new habits.
- Eat healthy foods! Detox your body from all of the holiday sweet treats.
- Do a juice cleanse for a week.
- Take down your Christmas tree and holiday decorations. 🎄
- Organize your Christmas decorations.
- Shop the after-Christmas sales and stock up on supplies for next year. This is a great time to find wrapping paper, ribbon, and teacher gifts for next year. 💲
- Bake a pot roast in the oven, savoring not only the delicious aroma it imparts but also your scrumptious dinner.
- Join a gym/club and plan a consistent, yet fun, workout routine.
- On this January bucket list for families, you can take your crew on an ice-skating adventure and then go out to a nice dinner afterward.
- Declutter your home.
- Pull out the plants in your home décor and enjoy the green foliage indoors. 🌱

- Go skiing or snowboarding for the day.
- Host a bonfire in the snow.
- Make homemade bath bombs.
- Host multiple dinner parties in January. It’s a great month when friends and family are more likely to be available to hang out. 🍽
- Go on a snowmobile excursion.
- Make a snow cone out of REAL snow.
- Organize your dresser drawers and donate those pieces that you no longer wear.

- Visit a local downtown area and shop with your family or friends.
- Have a movie-extravaganza day where you stay in your pajamas all day and watch your favorite shows.

- Be a snowbird and go on vacation to a state that still has warmth throughout the winter months.
- Host a karaoke sing-a-thon with your friends and family. Amazon has a great karaoke microphone with a built-in speaker. 🎤
- Have a family game night with pizza and all.
- Invite your friends over for a get-together and have everyone bring their favorite Pinterest dish to share.
- Pamper yourself and go get a facial, massage, or mani/pedi.
- Take a long walk, all bundled up if it’s cold out and talk to God. He’s listening and LOVES to spend time with you. If nobody has ever told you this, allow me, “You are His favorite!” 😉
- Take a cooking class. If you live in the U.S., Sur La Table has great cooking classes.
- Work on a home improvement project. The winter months are great months to get stuff done inside the house.
- It’s a new season, do something that you’ve always wanted to do.
- Make Mondays not so ordinary. Every Monday, throughout January (or every Monday all year long), do something that fills your soul. Be intentional about eating your favorite food, reading your favorite book, going shopping, or whatever it is that will make your heart sing.

- Organize your pantry. 🛷
- Clean inside, outside, and on top of your kitchen cabinets.
- Buy yourself a bouquet of flowers.
- Go to a cozy green house and dream about spring.
- Brainstorm and plan your landscaping ideas for the spring and summer seasons.
- Price out and plan the building of a new deck or patio. (This is me dreaming out loud!) 😉
- Sign up at your local high school to use their pool and take your kiddos swimming.
- Enjoy the ambiance of your favorite candle, or the scent of the best essential oils.
- Bake a homemade bread.
- Roast marshmallows and make s’mores in your kitchen. You can use one of these super cute table-top fire pits for the roasting, or go old-school like we did when I was a kid and cook them over your stovetop.
- No matter what you do in all events in January, be intentional to enjoy the moment and remind yourself that spring is coming. Winter is just a season, not a lifestyle.
- Start planning a Valentine’s Day party for your family. 💘
- Make a vision board for the year. What is on your heart to do/accomplish?
- Make a homemade winter wreath for your front door.
- Another one of those fun outdoor winter activities- have a snowball fight.
- Take a long winter’s nap. Or, as my daughter would say, hibernate. 😴
- Sit by a fireplace, read a good book, and drink your favorite hot drink.
