Don’t blink! The fall decorations are already out in the stores and Thanksgiving will be here pretty much the next time you sneeze. I’m so excited you are here to take a peek to our plaid and pumpkin Thanksgiving dinner table setting so we can get you prepped with some beautiful tablescape ideas for your gathering.
We styled this Thanksgiving dinner table as an inspirational piece for your upcoming family get-together. Pottery Barn influenced us with the centerpiece we styled this year, from one of their vase and leaf arrangements. We created a slightly different version as our centerpiece and built the fall table decorations around it.

Thanksgiving Dinner Table Settings
Let’s begin with the centerpiece. The tan oversized ceramic vase, by Hearth & Hand, comes from Target. Goodness, do I love their Magnolia collection. They inspire me every time I walk through that section of the store. Can you relate to my sentiments?
The faux leaves cascading from the vase are gorgeous finds from Hobby Lobby. Now, THEY have some amazing florals to help you decorate your Thanksgiving table, and home, in the beautiful deep hues of fall.
I saw some darling branches (if branches can be darling) with small orange pumpkin clusters down the stem. These would be SO cute staged in a pot as well. You can add some faux leaf bouquets to fill in the gaps and, “Voila!” Another amazing centerpiece idea.
I just love plaid on a Thanksgiving table. Whether this pattern is on a tablecloth, linen napkin, faux plush pumpkin, or dinner plate, I think it is one of the perfect designs for this time of year.
Isn’t this Amazon plaid tablecloth, “The Bomb?” It brought such a warm feel to the tablescape and flowed well with the orange and yellow colors in the leaves.
In light of the warmer tones of the season, we decided to pull out the gold chargers on this plaid and pumpkin thanksgiving dinner table setting and styled it with gold flatware to accentuate. Creamy white dishes topped with brown and cream toile dinner plates were stacked, and then we incorporated rich brown wooden pumpkin plates as the Cherries-On-Top.
The linen napkins, found in a similar color as the pumpkin plates, were tucked in between to add some width to each place setting.
Quick side note: If you want to make your place setting look longer, place a folded linen napkin within the clustered plates. If you want to make them feel fuller and more plush, use a napkin ring to house your linen napkins on top of the stacked ensemble.
In light of the amber colors incorporated, we felt like we needed one more layer. The amber water goblets, another beautiful product from Amazon, fits perfectly as that extra splash of color we are looking for.
The faux stuffed pumpkins, handmade by yours-truly, were super easy to make and mimicked many of the velvet pumpkins out in retail stores.
One year I went to a local squash field and asked the farmer if I could gather up the stems for a craft I was working on. They were so kind to let me pick as many as I needed. After letting them dry out, I use these little “nuggets” on my crushed velvet pumpkins as their repurposed stems.
The gold votive holders are the embellishments that bring warmth full circle on this plaid and pumpkin Thanksgiving dinner table setting.

P.S. A Note of Encouragement
Thankfulness is a lifestyle! Choosing to cultivate thankfulness will help your mind to focus on the good in life. It’s something we have to choose every day in order to look at the glass as half full rather than half empty.
I don’t know about you, but in the fall and winter seasons when there’s less daylight, I need to be a little more intentional about having a thankful heart to help my mood.
If I focus on the things I’m thankful for, like the beautiful colors of the season, times for festive gatherings, life, health, and a bazillion other things, it sure does help keep my mindset where it needs to be instead of on the lack of daylight.
Whatever your situation may be, if you shift your focus to the positive (I say shift because it’s so easy for the negative to be the default), be intentionally thankful, allow God to bring healing, and live in today, I believe you will see victory and freedom in your mind and life.
