Booo! Just kidding! This Halloween post is NOT about highlighting the scary side of Halloween party decorations. Here, we have a no-scare policy! LOL! We prefer to Focus our Flare on Four Fun things: fall color scheme, animals, bugs, and gorgeous fall embellishments.
When hosting a party, I love to dress up specific areas of our home so our guests feel welcomed as soon as they walk through the door. Those key areas are the front door, entryway, powder room, tablescape, and bar cart. We will explore decorating ideas you can use to stage your home for a fun scare-free Halloween party this autumn season, in these specific spaces.
Let’s begin by pulling out those burnt orange, chocolate brown, sparkly black, and mustard yellow-colored decorations for your party and I’ll help you stage them. Grab your fleece blanket, cozy slippers, and hot apple cider, and let’s learn about decorating our homes for the best scare-free Halloween party ever.

Halloween Party Tablescape Decorations
This has to be one of my favorite tablescapes, yet! Partly because I love, love, love decorating with fall colors. They bring such a cozy feel to any home.
Can we already park the truck right here for a minute and stare at these dinner and salad plates? Oh, my goodness do I LOVE them! I saw these “guys” a while ago at Walmart and knew I wanted them for my Halloween party place settings. They are STUNNING and casual enough for so many different dinner occasions. If you are looking for some plates that “pop,” these certainly do the trick. Pun intended! Hehe!
I used burlap placemats as my chargers and tucked them underneath the black and cream dinnerware. From there, I layered in classic orange and black buffalo plaid fabric napkins from Amazon. A traditional Halloween napkin pattern that can be used year after year.
The brass black spider web napkin rings were another perfect not-so-scary Halloween party decoration. They are super sturdy, and are larger in person than how they appear in the photos. Great conversation pieces! A winning find from Amazon, for sure!
When hunting for silverware, my eyes stopped in their tracks at this stainless-steel matte set. I knew I wanted to go with black rather than traditional stainless or gold flatware, to best compliment my other tablescape pieces. From Target, this find is (in my super squeaky voice) AMAZING! They even feel heavier than my current everyday flatware from Pottery Barn. That says a lot because Pottery Barn has super high-quality sets. And, you probably already know, heavy weighted flatware is always a plus.
For the beverage holders, I used the Bar 340 Mule Mugs in a black shiny hammered finish. They are the perfect fit for this Halloween party tablescape and can be found at Walmart.
The amber-brown fluted candle votive holders are the jewelry added to this table. They shine with the lit candles inside, add warmth because of the brownish tone, and provide a splash of texture to the design. I’m super pleased with this Amazon find.
The tablecloth is a neutral beige color from the Threshold collection at Target, and the bright orange table runners are the perfect pumpkin shade found on Amazon.
The Halloween Centerpiece is a T.J. Maxx piece with dried soft and flowy pampas grasses spraying out the top of its matte black vase. This sweet arrangement can be used anywhere, as fall or Halloween décor. The plastic bats were added to make things look a little more “Halloweeny.” Can I use that as a word?
Halloween Party Bar Cart Decorations
If you do not yet have a bar cart, I highly recommend one. They come in handy when you need a place to hold glasses, drinks, ice buckets, dessert plates, extra food, and sweet trick-or-treats for your party.
Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to compile a list of the top trending bar carts on the market. I’ve been pondering a post like this.
When the gathering is over, it can be decorated with home items that match your style and décor while being used as furniture. You can add a lamp, plants, picture frames, pottery, candles and so much more.
As you can see in this Halloween bar cart design, I piggy-backed off of what the tablescape displayed. Cohesiveness is a must when you want to show design intentionality, so remember to add embellishments that coordinate. When I say cohesiveness, I don’t mean matchy-matchy. I just mean the items flow well together. Here are some Halloween party bar cart decorations you can add to your cart that can flow well with your tablescape.
- Jack-O-Lanterns
- Pumpkins- Real or faux!
- Mini Hay Stacks
- Velvet or Burlap Pumpkins

Halloween Party Entryway Table Decorations
When decorating your entryway table for a Halloween party, keep in mind how you decorated your dining room table. Try to add a piece or two that ties in with what your guests will see when they sit down to eat dinner. - Bat Decals- Arrange them flying up the wall, over a mirror or picture, or on the leg of your entry table.
- Pumpkins- All shapes and sizes!
- Jack-O-Lanterns- You can use battery-operated candles inside the pumpkin, so no fire worries.

- Acorns- Use as a layering piece for glass candle holders or scattered in a bowl.

- Candelabra
- Pumpkin Filler in Bowl
- Dried Pampas Grasses in Vase

P.S. A Note of Encouragement
Something I have been pondering this week is the phrase, “Don’t rush it.” My family and I are about to add another member to the mix; a boxer puppy. My girls want this baby, TODAY. They don’t like waiting. Then again, who does? Certainly not their momma either!
I’m sure you can relate. We want the blessings now. I get it! I’m having to counsel my girls in this waiting season and sharing with them the necessity of time. As hard as it is, we need it.
When you think about a seed, you know you have to plant it in the soil, and then wait. You can’t see the seed, right? There are days, sometimes weeks, before anything happens. At least anything we can actually see with our eyes.
It’s under the ground where the seed is doing what it has to do, to grow sustainable roots as a plant, flower, or tree. Roots are grown in the waiting. The roots grown in our lives as humans are roots of self-control, self-discipline, appreciation, perception, and good habits.
Considering our puppy, he can’t be away from his mom yet. He’s too little. All the while, my girls are still learning how to keep their toys picked up so the puppy won’t, one day, chew on or swallow them.
The puppy is learning how to walk, be weaned, and be strong enough to be away from his mom. My girls are learning self-control so they know how to sit still in say, a fast-food line PATIENTLY, when they are old enough. Some people should have had to wait for a puppy when they were kids! I’ll leave that one right here. LOL!
Waiting is actually a time for growth. If we got it now, we wouldn’t be strong enough to handle or carry the weight of it. Whatever the “it” may be. We may think we know, but ultimately, God knows best when to bring things into our lives.
Today, I want you to look at the positive in the waiting. If you got “the thing” today, really consider how you would handle it.
Remember when you were a child and you thought you were ready for whatever “it” was? Remember when your parents said, “No?” They, being a little older and wiser, thought there needed to be some time to wait. Or, maybe someone else had to be ready before you could have what you wanted. Either way, the waiting turned out to be for you, to strengthen and grow you.
Be encouraged today and know God sees where you are. He sees how long it’s taking. He knows you and I are bound by time. He understands our frames.
He’s not playing games with you. Someone needs to hear that! There is something in your life that He is growing stronger, for you to handle the blessing. I want you to stay hopeful. You are not forgotten.
The time is coming, and today you are one step closer to seeing your miracle manifest. It’s just around the corner. So, grow as strong as you can today because you must be able to carry the weight of it when it gets here.
