If you love the idea of a glistening green and gold Christmas tablescape staged as the backdrop for your holiday gathering, we have some gorgeous pictures to share as inspiration to help you style yours. Since green and gold are high on the popular Christmas color palette, I thought it would be fun to do a strong mix of these two shades and let the Christmas reds have their place in another photo shoot.

Green and Gold Inspiration
I love to hear the backstory of how something special came together. Come join me as we dig into the details of how this Christmas table setting manifested and my thought process behind going this route.
Almost always, I will incorporate Christmas reds into my Christmas table décor. That is my “norm.” But, for this one, I wanted to shake it up a bit, think outside of the box, and go with something a little different.
The glistening green and gold Christmas tablescape inspiration started with exactly that; those two colors in mind. When doing my research, I fell in love with this color combo and knew it was time to make these shades shine on our dining table.
My initial pondering consisted of laying a 2×4 on the center of the table and then securing bottle brush Christmas trees on top with double-sided tape. I still might make this creation come to life (hehe), but in the meantime, enjoy with me these pretty layering pieces. 🤍
The decorated Christmas table garland, down the center of the table, is where my heart settled for this masterpiece. It was the perfect start to layering in the green colors. If you’d like to see a list of the popular garland trends we put together, steaming off the Amazon press, feel free to check them out here.
The golden candlestick holders from my mantle were the next step in the process of making this tablescape dream come true. This is when I began incorporating the gold tones in my planning.
Christmas Table Decorations
All of the table decorations came into place once I nailed down my color scheme. When you decide on your palette, it helps to narrow down the search volume as you dig into searching for the pieces that make your heart smile.
Forest Green Salad Plates
Talk about making me smile! These ceramic green salad plates did not disappoint. Here’s a close match on Amazon. Oh, my goodness are they ever beautiful! They add such great texture to the green and gold Christmas tablescape ensemble because of their wavy, shiny surface.
Bow Tie Houndstooth Linen Napkins
Don’t be afraid to choose “non-Christmas” patterns for your Christmas table napkins. If you have napkins that are within your color scheme, feel free to go with it. You can always make them feel “Christmassy” from the other table decorations incorporated, as well as how you style them.
We decided to go a little extra fancy and turn the linen napkins into bow ties. Didn’t they turn out so cute? I was also contemplating turning them into Christmas trees, but the bows ultimately won the battle. LOL! Here is a tutorial if you would like to make them, too.
Tablecloth and Table Runners
Opting to go with a beige linen tablecloth made the white tones from the table décor, pop. As for the table runners, these came from a favorite Christmas wrapping paper of mine, highlighting the color scheme of the tablescape. I had to cut the sheets in half because the width of the paper was super wide. This helped make the runners a great width for each space.
Garland Table Runner
The table garland I chose has beautiful faux Christmas greens with a few extra embellishments. I added gold, silver, and white ornaments, golden beaded pics, and Christmas trees. I love how the trees are elevated a bit, so they can be easily tucked in between the garland leaves for a seamless look.
The candle sticks, nestled inside their pillar holders, add the perfect layer of warm ambiance and height to this glistening green and gold Christmas tablescape.
The Jewelry on the Table – Mercury Glass Candle Votives
If it’s mercury-glass, I’m in LOVE! I love anything and everything that has to do with this material. These candle votive holders are a STUNNING Amazon find! A crowd pleaser for sure. I like to think of them as the jewelry on the table because of how they sparkle when the candles inside are lit.
Last but not Least – Water Goblets, Chargers, Dinner Plates, and Flatware
The green water goblets stand tall and complement the color scheme so well. I love how versatile they are, meaning you can use them for multiple seasons. I used them on my Easter table, too. You can click here if you’d like to see how easily they can be staged for different celebrations. As for the gold rimmed, glasses, they help tie in the other golds from the table setting, and provide another beverage option for the guests.
The faux wooden chargers with a golden undertone remind me of the wood branches on an evergreen tree. Being intentional with the little details like this makes you think like a designer when styling a table setting.
Going super simple with the dinner plates sat well in my heart in light of the busyness of the long centerpiece. Always add in some simple touches, especially when you have other décor pieces that seem louder in style.
If you can have a special set of gold flatware, especially for the holidays, you will have no regrets using them. I use my set regularly, and because of how well the gold flows with the colors of the season, they can complement almost any palette you choose.
Conclusion
I’m so thankful you stopped by and joined our glistening green and gold Christmas tablescape reveal. Feel free to take any ideas you have gleaned and use them on your holiday table. I’d be honored if you’d like to share a picture of your masterpiece in the comments below. I love seeing your creations come to life!
P.S. A Note of Encouragement
God wants to be at the very center of your life. When He’s pushed over to the side, the difficulties from the day start to overwhelm us. The God of the universe, the God who made you and loves you, wants to be the hub of your heart and the axis of your existence.
God wants to have a love relationship with you. Matthew 22:37-38 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”
The truth is, we are going to center our lives around something. It may be our career, our family, our hobbies, money, etc. How do we know when something is taking center stage in our lives? It’s simple! When God is not at the center, we start to worry, stress out and become fearful. These are warning signs that God is no longer the nucleus of the heart.
In contrast, how can we tell when our lives are centered on God? We are at peace and we stop worrying. A sense of God’s wholeness and knowing everything is working together for our good, will help settle our hearts. Such a wonderful moment when Christ is at the center and worry goes away.
Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.” This speaks such life to my heart. I pray it does for you, too. A dear friend sent this encouraging word to me today, and I had to share it with you. Thank you, Kim!
